Text from accompanying artist book:
Flowers on the otherwise unmarked mass graves in Homewood Memorial Gardens, with the north wall of the Thornton Quarry beyond. A fence separates the two zones - for now, anyway. The shadow from the flowers will sweep like a clock hand, marking time as the newly dead settle in for long-term transformation.
In the far distance is the concrete skyline of Chicago - the quarry’s former inhabitants, risen anew.
